Cookie Policy
The cookies and similar technologies PaperGuard uses, and the choices you have.

1. What cookies are
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. We also use your browser’s local storage, which works in a similar way. Some are strictly necessary for the site to work; others remember your choices.
2. Cookies we use
- pg_session
- Purpose: Keeps you signed in. It cannot be read by scripts on the page and is only sent over secure connections.
- Lasts: 30 days
- Type: Strictly necessary
- locale
- Purpose: Remembers whether you use the site in Arabic or English
- Lasts: 1 year
- Type: Preference
- pg_household
- Purpose: Remembers which household you last opened
- Lasts: 1 year
- Type: Preference
- pg_consent
- Purpose: Remembers your choice about analytics cookies. We ask again when it expires.
- Lasts: 6 months
- Type: Strictly necessary
- ph_*
- Purpose: Product analytics, only if you allow it: helps us understand which features are used so we can improve them. It may also keep similar data in local storage.
- Lasts: 1 year
- Type: Analytics (optional)
We also keep two small items in your browser’s local storage: the household you last opened, and whether you skipped the welcome setup. They stay until you clear your browser data.
3. Third parties
We do not use advertising cookies. Analytics cookies are set by our analytics provider, PostHog, on our behalf and only if you allow them. When you pay for a plan, you complete the payment on Stripe’s checkout page, which sets its own cookies to process the payment and prevent fraud, under Stripe’s cookie policy.
4. Your choices
Strictly necessary cookies do not need your consent, because the site cannot work without them. Preference cookies only store choices you have made, such as your language, so they do not need consent either. Analytics cookies stay off until you allow them: our banner offers “Essential only” and “Allow analytics” as equal choices. You can change your choice at any time using the Cookie settings link at the bottom of our website pages.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. If you block the session cookie, you will not be able to sign in.
